Introduction
Interferon alpha/beta receptor 1 (IFNAR1) is a protein involved in the immune response. It is a component of the interferon receptor complex, which is responsible for signaling interferons, which are protein messengers that help fight infections and cancer. IFNAR1 is a type I interferon receptor, which means it interacts with type I interferons, such as interferon alpha and beta. Mutations in the IFNAR1 gene can lead to genetic disorders, such as severe combined immunodeficiency (SCID), which affects the immune system.
